The Rotary Club of Fish Hawk Riverview has been throwing these seafood feasts for over ten years and this year they plan to make it the biggest. Choose from a flavor-packed menu complete with jambalaya, étouffée, gumbo, and even all-you-can-eat crawfish dinners!   •  Florida Orchestra Superhero Soundtracks: Experience some of the most iconic theme songs of all time at the Straz this Friday as the Florida Orchestra performs Superhero Soundtracks live! The Straz center invites you to come dressed as your favorite superhero or villain to listen to timeless tunes from the Avengers, X-Men, DC universe, and more. This is the perfect event for families to give their kids a taste of the classical stylings of the outstanding Florida Orchestra while they unleash their inner superpowers!

  • Temple Terrace BrewFest: Just in case you didn’t have enough awesome festivals to go to this weekend, here’s another one! Over 35 different brewers from the Tampa Bay area all gather together to bring you 100+ different beers to sample at the craft jamboree known as BrewFest at the Historic Woodmont Park in Temple Terrace. There will be food trucks, free parking, and live music from The Black Velvet Band! Those who purchase Designated Driver tickets are welcome to unlimited water and soft drinks at a reduced rate. Pets and children are welcome to enjoy the park as well, so bring the whole family if you like!

 

Pasco County

  •  Kids Open Studio: If your Mini-Monet likes to get a little grimy whilst painting their masterpieces, why not bring them over to the Starkey Ranch Theatre Library Cultural Center for Kids Open Studio Saturday morning from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. They supply all the materials they’ll need and even take care of the clean-up afterward, all you have to do is bring your child and their imagination in tow (and maybe an extra change of clothes)!   •  Mother’s Day Tea Party: Treat the mothers in your life to a taste of the finer things at the Mother’s Day Tea Party in New Port Richey. Only $15 per person will get you yummy tea sandwiches, salads, quiches, and a host of rich coffee and refreshing teas to sip from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday. Guests are encouraged to wear hats to participate in the hat competition! Prizes will be awarded for special categories like: Most Creative, Best Mother/Daughter Duo, Most Outrageous, and Best Use of Flowers.

  • Cars and Coffee: Support a local business by coming out for unique drinks and cool cars! Bruce Brothers Beanery is a coffee joint in New Port Richey that boasts over 50 flavors of coffee, shakes, and frappes. Their monthly Cars and Coffee meetup is happening this Sunday, which invites patrons to grab a drink of choice and check out some sweet rides! The Bruce Bros are about to celebrate their first year in business so now is the time to give them a try!

Pinellas County

  •  Exotic Reptile Expo: Fun for even the faint of heart, the Tampa Bay Reptile Expo will knock your socks off! The expo gathers ethical animal handlers and vendors excited to show you what some of these scaly, spiny, and even furry creatures are all about. Animal health and safety is their top priority so you can rest assured that handlers are not just friendly but also experts. The show lasts all weekend long from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm and ticket prices range from $10 to $20.

  • Taco and Tequila Crawl: Taco-bout a good time, this taco and tequila celebration aims to please with exclusive tequila, margarita, and beer specials and some mouth-watering sounding tacos. Hosted by Bar Crawl USA, the fiesta starts Saturday at the Downtown St. Pete restaurants and offers VIP check-in at 12:00 pm and general admission at 1:00 pm. Among the dazzling array of beverages, some of the tacos featured include Sweet Thai and Mojo beef and chicken flavors. Please keep in mind that this event is 21+!

  •  ACS Relay For Life 2022: Brought to you by the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life is their flagship fundraising event where participants set up games and activities, walk laps around a track, and help fight back against cancer. The event will be taking place at England Brothers Park and starts at 5:00 pm. It is free to attend, but bring cash to enjoy all the on-site team fundraisers! A powerful luminaria ceremony to remember those who have lost their battle against cancer and honor those who are still fighting will begin at 9:00 pm. ACS invites any survivors and their caregivers to take part!

  •  “Feed the Foodies” Truck Rally: We know Pinellas loves good food. Lucky for you, we also know a great spot to get some. The Palm Harbor Chamber Foundation is hosting a food truck rally complete with vendors, games, music and more. The Palm Harbor Institute of Non-Profits will even be in attendance organizing volunteer opportunities for adults and teens. Forget your dinner plans for Friday night and get some food truck grub instead!

  • Sunscreen Film Festival: Movie junkies can get their fix at the annual Sunscreen Film Festival! Showings and seminars go anywhere from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm Thursday through Sunday, so check their website for dates and times.   • DeSoto Grand Parade: Those who missed Gasparilla will have another chance to see some spectacular floats and catch some beads as part of the DeSoto Grand Parade on Saturday! The DeSoto Grand Parade is one of the oldest and biggest parades in all of Southwest Florida, boasting over 150 floats and participants. It kicks off its 2.5 mile route at Manatee High School at 7:00 pm and ends at Manatee Avenue and 9th Street.

The event is designed to raise support for the Interfaith Homeless Shelter, which aids homeless women, children, and families.
