Hillsborough County

  • Tampa Bay Balloon Festival: The sky is the limit at the Tampa Bay Balloon Festival! See balloons light up the night sky at the balloon glow and watch as they take flight! The festival will feature bounce houses, as well as plenty of vendors and local food options. Tethered Balloon rides will also be available at an additional cost. Admission is per vehicle with general admission at $24.50.

  • Frozen: For the first time in forever, big broadway shows are back at the Straz with Disney’s Tony-nominated Best Musical, Frozen, taking the stage this weekend. Watch the captivating story of Elsa and Anna unfold with jaw-dropping special effects, gorgeous set design, and powerful performances all while listening to a newly expanded score that features over a dozen new numbers in addition to your favorite songs from the film.   • 5K for K12: Run for a good cause this Saturday, with the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching at USF hosting the 5K for K12 to help fund programs to support teachers across the state. There will be three races taking place at the USF Tampa Campus that morning with a 5K run at 8:00 am, a 5K run/walk at 8:45 am, and a 1-mile fun run at 9:45 am. All participants will receive a shirt and medal, with additional awards being given to those who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at each race.

  • Tampa AirFest: Tampa AirFest is back at MacDill this Saturday with plenty of fun meet and greets, air shows featuring an appearance by the US Navy Blue Angels, and chances to get up close and personal to some amazing aircraft. AirFest will also have food and concessions, as well as the Budweiser Clydesdales, Blue Angels Kids Zone with bounce houses, and an Extreme Air Power Jump. Admission is free with gates opening at 8:00 am.

  • Hollywood Awards Night: Celebrate the Academy Awards in style at a swanky red carpet event at the historic Tampa Theater! The 23rd annual Hollywood Awards Night event is definitely the place to be this Sunday, with games, prizes, free popcorn and soda, and the Academy Awards and red carpet pre-show on the big screen. You might even run into some Hollywood royalty with celebrity lookalikes, such as “Roan Jivers” in attendance. The reception begins at 6:30, with general admission starting at $25.

Pasco County

  • 6th Annual Pasco Blues Fest Benefit Concert: Rock out to the music and take in the good vibes at the Pasco Blues Fest Benefit Concert this Saturday at Land O’ Lakes Heritage Park, starting at noon. The Festival lineup includes Dottie Kelly, Jukebox Johnnies, and Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute Double Your Trouble. There will also be funky local food trucks such as Jimmy Bodeans Grilled Cheese and Sweet Suga Grillin. Event proceeds go to the Bridging Freedom Organization which helps victims of human trafficking in Pasco County.

  • Vintage Farm Girl Market: Enjoy some southern hospitality this Saturday at the Darby Harvest Country Market in Dade City! Shop at any of the 25 local vendors selling handmade goods, produce, and honey. Don’t forget to check out the farm’s mini cows and other cute critters during your visit!

  • Chasco Fiesta: Celebrate 100 years of Fiesta this year at the Centennial Chasco Fiesta this weekend at Sims Park in New Port Richey. This year is sure to make history with the Native American Festival, carnival, parades, a different genre of live music each night, and plenty of good food. Admission is $5 for general admission, with free admission for children under 12.

  • Camp Wordier: Are you a fan of slasher flicks like Friday the 13th? Wordier than Thou is hosting an 80s slasher-inspired interactive murder mystery game at the St Petersburg KOA this Saturday starting at 1:00 pm. Can you solve the murder case at Camp Wordier before it’s too late?

  • Trashed Comedy Show: Laugh it up at the Atelier De Sosi this Saturday night, as the gallery’s Trashed exhibit comes to life with a comedy show. The exhibit, which highlights art made with upcycled trash, will host local comedians Shellie Harris, Bard Gilmore, and John J Murray as they joke about… trash! The event will start at 8:00 pm with tickets costing $25 which includes a complimentary drink.

  • Dolphin Yoga: Unwind with a relaxing guided meditation with a porpoise… or… purpose as you attend a yoga session at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Practice your poses in front of the underwater dolphin viewing area, meditate, and watch the dolphins at this relaxing event that benefits the aquarium and conservation efforts.

 

Sarasota/Manatee County

  •  My Hometown Fest: One of Southwest Florida’s biggest spring celebrations is back and better than ever this Saturday at Nathan Benderson Park. My Hometown Fest will feature live bands, food from nearly 40 area restaurants, and drinks from over 20 breweries and distilleries. Proceeds from the event go to benefit the Sertoma Kids Speech and Language Center as well as the Sertoma Club of Greater Sarasota.

 

Polk County

  •  Concert Under The Stars: Listen to the sweet harmonies of Sierra Hull, a virtuoso mandolinist from Tennessee who has played Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry, under the stars this Friday. The concert takes place at the scenic Bok Towers, with sprawling picturesque gardens of azaleas, camellias, and magnolias. The concert starts at 7:00 with admission to the towers included with the price of a concert ticket.

Citrus County

  • Class Clowns Comedy Show: You’ll be in stitches at the Class Clowns Comedy Show this Friday night at the Valerie Theater in Inverness. Devin Siebold and Mike Rivera are teachers that have decided to take up comedy and become class clowns themselves, appearing on Hulu, Fox, Showtime, and HBO. This show also gives back to teachers, with proceeds going to the Citrus County Education Foundation.

 

Lee County
